Not
on my wall.
Text: Pablo Maņé.
On the whole art is especially good when one is the holder of a piece of art. If you have a painting you are the first to shout out loud the importance which that piece of art has on journey of that artist. Completely the opposite with graffiti which is an indisputable artistic way until they deposit it on the wall of your house. Moments that turn into scribbles or something worse.
Occasionally you are forced to consider graffiti like an artistic expression as they get away into other categories of the user to organize another group of particular ideas. Not only aesthetic things are important, also reinvidicative or localize. That was called writing. Later on it was known as graffiti. The sociologist Mattesoli wants to see in this demonstration a protection against the imposition where ever it comes from.
Another of the graffiti characteristics is their own vocabulary. Some dedicate themselves to free style. Others bombard to put their tags in big letters. There are also the ones that "throw up" which means writing in big letters to later on fill in with spectacular colours. There are many types of letters such as bubble-letter,blockbuster,floaters,3D,wild style etc., |
| Two figures have come out of the aerosol who have reached an international dimension passing through the nighttimes and the autofinance tot eh ludicrous. They are Basquiat and Keith Haring. Just over a year ago Guernseyīs house organized an auction in Puck building in Manhattan. A buyer paid 18.000 euros (nearly 3.000.000pts) for a door signed by them among other graffiti painters. For a drawing done with chalk by Haring someone paid 6,000 euros (nearly 1,000,000pts). In the same auction someone paid 21.000 euros( nearly 3,500.000pts) for a drawing done by Basquiat, which isnīt surprising if you take into account that his graffiti "Peter and the wolf" was sold for 710,000 euros(118,000,000pts). Itīs the graffiti best paid for in history up to the moment. |
