The idea of the campaign came from a meeting with all the Stylusart staff. Pablo Mañe, the director suggested, "we could contact artists from all over the world through Internet so that they could donate a small original with a solidarity ending. The sales could be done from the magazine. What do you think?".

We all agreed with the idea. We thought it was an innovating idea and it went along with our philosophy: promote art and artists in an efficient way and on an international scale. And who better to receive the benefits from this than UNICEF, Save the Children and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation?

The title of this project was not difficult to find, ORIGINAL SOLIDARITIES. We thought it was suitable and it sythesized the concept of the campaign.

This was ten months ago and we never thought it would have had the participation that is has had, 175 artists from 21 countries donated a total of 415 originals. 
Like I have said before it has been ten months since then and it has been full of enthusiasm, a lot of work and above all solidarity.

Memories. I remember the enthusiasm in which we received the envelopes from all over the world from Canada to South Africa with its originals inside. The "count on me" from all the artists that have taken part in the campaign. The e-mails received, like the one from André Maitre from Switzerland in which he said that he felt happy to have been able to help through his work or the one sent by Gustavo Vázquez from Uruguay who congratulated us for this fantastic idea or Africa Guzmán from Spain who said, "solidarity in return of art. This way we all end up winning...."

I remember the noise coming from the Fax, receiving a new purchase. The conversations with UNICEF, Save the Children and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, thanking us for this iniciative.
The knowledge by the public and the professionals of the level obtained by the ORIGINALS.
The opening of the wonderful Casa Amatller in Barcelona with the televison cameras fillming minutes after hanging up the last original.
The repercussion in the press and radio on the exhibition at the Galeria Anagma in Valencia and the opening of the new cultural space "espai f" in Mataró coinciding with the presentation of the original solidarities.
Because of all of this we are very proud. We have shown how to use the network in a positive way, binding art, new technologies and solidarity something like a Positive Globalization, like Carmen Posadas had said and from here we wish to thank her for all the positive and enthusiastic support she has given us.
To all the artists who have taken part, all the buyers, all the voluntaries that have helped us, all the institutions both public and private who have collaborated with us and of course to the more than 100,000 readers who everyday read us and encourage us to prepare the Second Edition of ORIGINAL SOLIDARITIES.
